We believe that the planning and hard work here at TimberStruc in conjunction with the support of our supply chain has enabled us to ride out the storm.

The 2021 ‘Timber Challenge’: how we’re facing it

Unprecedented worldwide demand for timber products over the last 12 months has resulted in rapidly increasing prices and materials shortages throughout the UK supply chain. Timber prices have seen a dramatic increase of up to 80%, and the escalation has taken its toll on buyers and companies throughout a global scale.

Understandably, our company has been impacted and after starting up mid-2019, it was impossible to predict the events of the future. High demand, lower supply of raw materials and a buoyant market make a bad recipe for a relatively new business with rising prices and the availability of raw materials became a constant challenge along with the fallout from the Covid19 pandemic.

We’ve had no choice but to combat the problem head on, planning ahead and working to provide solutions for TimberStruc’s customers.

Timber prices have seen a dramatic increase of up to 80%.

One of our early strategies focused on ‘supply chain’ and we have worked hard to build and develop relationships with all of our suppliers to ensure that we could meet the needs of our customers. This has paid dividends and to date we have not missed a single key delivery date.

As tough as the past year has been, we believe that the planning and hard work here at TimberStruc in conjunction with the support of our supply chain has enabled us to ride out the storm and we are well set for the next push in our development.

Our focus and determination has set up this business on the path for success and we are maintaining an optimistic attitude as we head into the future, continuing to embrace and tackle the challenges with the TimberStruc team behind us.
